Sustainable Growers began when Bloomberg Philanthropies challenged Sustainable Harvest Coffee Importers to use their expertise to help build income opportunities for women in vulnerable places. The initiative began in Rwanda in 2013 in partnership with local government, and over time extended to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Colombia.

Our program continues to grow and now includes more coffee cooperatives, coffee buyers, roasters, and donor partners.
